One phone. Three to twelve players. Everybody sees the same secret word — except one of you.
How a round goes
Type in who is playing, give everyone a mascot, pick a pack of words. Then the phone starts going around the table. You hold your thumb down to reveal your card, read it, and hide it again before you hand the phone on.
Everybody but one player has now seen the same word. That one player has seen nothing — and has to talk as if they had. One clue each, out loud, around the table. Then the phone goes around a second time and everyone votes in secret. The app counts and tells you who was right.
The handoff is the game
A game played on a shared phone lives or dies on the moment it changes hands, so that moment got the most work. Revealing takes a deliberate press and hiding takes a deliberate tap — nothing flashes on screen while the phone is in the air. Going back can't walk you into the previous player's card. And when you switch apps mid-game, iOS gets a covered screen instead of a secret, so the app switcher never keeps a picture of it.
What Rolibi does not do is block or watch for screenshots. Nobody is monitored for cheating; the phone is in your friends' hands and how you play is between you.
Words written for the language, not translated into it
Eight packs — party mix, food, animals, jobs, places, objects, films and TV, sport — around 380 words per language. A word list translated word-for-word gives you things nobody in the room would ever say out loud, so each language gets its own list. English and Turkish today; more languages are being written.
The app itself reads in 44 languages, and the language you read the menus in is a separate choice from the language you play in.
Write your own pack
The best rounds are usually about your own group. Write a pack of your own — names, in-jokes, the places you always end up — and it sits alongside the built-in ones. It stays on the phone; nothing is uploaded and nothing is reviewed.
